A leader among her peers in independent school administration, Kathy Minardi commands more than a decade of experience as head of school. Since 1999, she has led strategic direction and instructional best practices for Aidan Montessori School in Washington, DC, an accredited institution via the Association of Independent Maryland & DC Schools. In this role, Kathy Minardi has strengthened the school's financial standing and facilities, as well as its pedagogical reputation. The school now enjoys a capacity enrollment, an increase of 40 percent from its status at the outset of her leadership.
In addition, Kathy Minardi frequently receives invitations to speak on school governance and strategic direction. A trainer in whole-school management for the North American Montessori Teachers' Association (NAMTA), she has published widely on the topic under the NAMTA name. Furthermore, Ms. Minardi has presented on numerous occasions at meetings of the Association Montessori Internationale and as an invited educator at the 2013 New York Times Global Forum.
